Frequently asked questions
Is ConsentGate on the list of Google-certified platforms?
Not yet. Google certification is required for publishers who serve ads through AdSense, Ad Manager or AdMob in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom and Switzerland. It requires IAB TCF compliance, which we are working on. If you run Google Ads campaigns and measure traffic in GA4, you need Consent Mode v2, and we support that today.
What exactly do you store in the consent log?
A random consent ID, the time of the decision, the type of decision, the chosen categories, the window settings version, country, language and page path. We store no IP address and no browser data.
Where is the data kept?
The consent log lives in a database created with a European Union jurisdiction restriction. Entries older than your plan period are removed automatically once a day.
Does the price depend on traffic?
No. The plan sets the number of sites and how long the log is kept. We do not count page views, sessions or subpages.
What happens if a payment fails?
The consent window keeps working. We will not leave your site without a window, because that would mean tracking without consent or losing measurement.
What does installation look like?
You paste one line of code as the first script in the head section. It works on any site where you can edit the head: WordPress, an online shop, a static site. The script must sit before Google Tag Manager.
Can I change the look and the texts?
Yes. You choose the layout, colours, languages and the wording of every text. Each publish creates a new settings version, and its number is stored in the log with the decision.
Can a visitor change their mind?
Yes. After a decision a small icon stays on the page and reopens the window. You can also wire up your own link in the footer.
