Accessibility statement

What this statement covers
This statement covers the ConsentGate consent window shown on our customers' sites and the consentgate.eu site. If you use ConsentGate, you can refer to it in your own accessibility information.
We design the window to meet WCAG 2.1 level AA, the requirements referenced by the EN 301 549 standard.
What the window does
The window is exposed as a named dialog, and keyboard focus stays inside it until a decision is made and then returns to the page.
All buttons, tabs and switches work with the keyboard alone. Tabs are switched with the arrow keys, and category switches announce their state to screen readers.
Buttons are at least 44 by 44 pixels, focus is visible, and the window fits a 320 pixel wide screen with no horizontal scrolling.
The window uses no animation and no time limits.
How we test
Every change to the window goes through automated accessibility tests (axe) in Chromium, Edge and WebKit and in a phone viewport. We also test keyboard operation.
We have not yet commissioned an independent audit or full screen reader testing. For that reason we do not claim full conformance; we describe what has been checked.
Known limits
The site owner sets the colours and texts of the window. If they choose colours with too little contrast or unclear texts, the window may not meet the requirements. The default colours have sufficient contrast.
Embedded content blocked until consent gets a text placeholder. Its appearance depends on where it is embedded.
Report a problem
If the window makes a site hard for you to use, write to kontakt@consentgate.eu. Describe the problem and give the site address and the browser or assistive technology you use. We reply within 14 days.
