Check whether your site tracks without consent
Enter a site address. In a few seconds we check its code: which tracking tools are written into it, whether there is a consent platform and whether Google is told about a refusal before its tags start. Google tags without correct Consent Mode v2 mean lost remarketing and conversion measurement in Google Ads.
The result is technical or indicative information, not legal advice.
What we check
Trackers
Which known analytics and advertising tools are written into the page code.
Consent platform
Whether the site uses one of twenty known consent platforms.
Consent Mode v2
Whether Google gets a default state, whether it has four signals and whether it sits before the Google tags.
Held scripts
Which tags are marked as waiting for consent.
Embedded content
Videos, maps and chats that set their own cookies.
Privacy policy
Whether the page links to one.
What this tool does not do
- We read the code of one page as it comes from the server. We do not run scripts, so we cannot see cookies or tags loaded through Google Tag Manager.
- We do not click the consent window, so we do not check what happens after a refusal.
- A full test in a real browser, listing cookies before consent and after a refusal, is being built.
- We keep the result for the same address for a day. We store no IP address and nothing about the person who runs the test.
Frequently asked questions
Is the test paid?
No. It needs no account and no email address either.
Can I check someone else's site?
Yes. We fetch one public document, as an ordinary browser would, and identify ourselves as ConsentGateScanner.
The result says "needs fixing". What now?
Usually a consent window that sets Consent Mode before the Google tags and holds the other tags until the decision is enough. Our guides explain how to check this yourself in a browser.
Why can you not see cookies?
Because cookies appear only after scripts run in a browser. This quick test reads only the page code. A browser-based test is in preparation.
